A Leader's Biography Is Also Their Methodology.

True authority is born from self-discovery. By converting personal history into actionable strategies, our fellows create sustainable, story led solutions across Africa.

Anchored in the foundational philosophy and textbook Leading By Your Life Story by Chief Moses Baffour Awuah, SYFoA operates on a simple but radical premise.

Unlike conventional leadership programmes that begin with external skill building, SYFoA begins from within. Over six months, fellows undergo a structured journey of examining their personal stories, translating personal resilience into strategic frameworks, and turning lived experiences into community-level action.

Why SYFoA?

Africa does not suffer from a talent vacuum; it suffers from a training paradigm that teaches young leaders to follow existing rules rather than author new solutions.

Traditional leadership programmes focus almost exclusively on external competencies public speaking, financial modeling, project management, and networking.

While these skills are necessary, they treat leadership as a set of imported toolkits rather than an internal formation. They routinely overlook the most foundational dimension of leadership: the ability to examine, interpret, and strategically deploy one's lived experience as a source of authority and innovation.

SYFoA directly addresses this gap through Narrative Intelligence (NQ).

Narrative Intelligence (NQ)

Narrative Intelligence (NQ) is the capacity to critically audit, structure, and deploy one's life story for societal transformation.

A leader who has thoroughly audited their past is uniquely equipped to avoid repeating systemic mistakes and build sustainable solutions for the future.
